Description
Discover the VERBA Variomix computer-controlled pig feeder, designed for fattening pigs and piglets. As an alternative to traditional stainless steel pig troughs, the Variomix offers a more efficient feeding solution, allowing you to save valuable floor space in your piggery. Since its introduction by VERBA in 1996, the automatic Variomix pig feeder has maintained its popularity thanks to its robustness and reliability.
Different types
With various types and models of the VERBA Variomix computer-controlled pig feeder, suitable for both dry feed and slurry feed, there is a suitable solution for every type of pig farm. These automatic pig feeders are computer-controlled and can be tailored to your specific needs, either with a customised feeding curve or integrated with your existing feeding system.
Advantages of the Variomix
One of the main advantages of the Variomix pig feeder is that it promotes calm in your pigsty. By enabling pigs to feed in sequence and ensuring an even feed intake, the Variomix promotes healthy and consistent growth in your pigs. This not only results in improved pig performance, but also in a more efficient use of feed and pen space.

Variomix in the press
Varkens.nl:
At Adrie van de Pas’s pig farm, the slurry-feeding system is being overhauled. The long troughs are being removed and a Variomix automatic feeder from Verba is being installed. “I’m going from one feeding point per pig back to almost one feeding point per ten animals. Practical experience with this method of supplementary feeding has been mixed, but I’ve seen it work very well at a large pig farm. That’s why I see it as a challenge to make it a success here too.” But above all, Adrie is opting for the extra square metres he can use for rearing fattening pigs. “Instead of four batches of eight animals, I can now keep two batches of 19 fattening pigs. Each year, I can deliver an extra 750 fattening pigs within the same barn space.”

Pig Business:
The innovative Verhees farm in Someren has around 1,000 sows and 9,000 fattening pigs. The latter are housed in multi-tier pens. With regard to manure processing, the farm is participating in the ‘Mineral Concentrate Research’ pilot scheme. This farm is equipped with VERBA Variomix feeders. The pigs are fed small portions as frequently as possible each day via the Variomix automatic feeders. In 2017, growth stood at 860 grams per animal per day, with a feed conversion ratio of 2.25.
